WASP NEST TREATMENT ROCHDALE

Wasp nests can be found in many locations around buildings. Most common being walls, eaves, roofs, grounds, flower beds, sheds and garages. Nest can be built in a place where it’s fully visible such as garages and sheds. It can also be built in cavities and hidden areas such as walls and grounds. In order to treat wasp nests effectively we look for the nest entrance. In nests that are built in a concealed space you’d often notice wasps entering and exiting through a hole. It’s the traffic of wasps entering and exiting a hole that indicate the presence of a wasp nest.

Once the nest is located...

Once the nest or the entrance to the nest is located Rochdale wasp nest removal team will then start treating the nest. We apply a professional use only insecticide in a form of dust into the entrance of the nest. If the insecticide doesn’t reach the nest immediately then returning wasps will carry it into the nest and that will kill the entire nest quickly.

The insecticide we use is not available to the public. The powder is white in colour and is applied under pressure using a pump to insure it reaches the target. We use specialist tools and extendable equipment to ensure that job is done 1st time.

After the treatment majority of wasp nests die within a few hours however it might take up to 24hrs for treatment to fully work as foraging wasps will continue returning to the nest and dying as they come in contact with poison. It’s not uncommon that wasps would become agitated and angry during treatment before the insecticide takes full effect. Therefore we often advise all our customers to keep their windows and doors shut during treatment if possible for a few hours.

It’s not often necessary (or possible) to physically remove the wasp nest. In fact it’s best to leave it after treatment. The treated nest will be a trap for all returning wasps as wasps will die when they enter the nest. Wasps never reuse an old nest. Queen wasps build nests in random locations from scratch every year. Therefore the removal of the dead nest after treatment is not recommended however if it’s alarming for the customer we can remove it at a later date if accessible.
